my college boyfriend always said this:

“you wanna dance, you gotta pay the band”
(he was a classy guy)

and i was thinking about how so many of us feel betrayed on some level by our choices

we wanted kids, marriage, the house, that life, then we just feel… stuck
(in the doing doing doing for everyone else ALL the time)

and instead of talking about how very difficult that is, we make jokes about moms and wine, suck it up and wait for our turn
whenever that is

sorry sister – “you made your bed, you lie in it” (you wanna dance, you gotta pay the band)

HOWEVER if we deconstruct the idea of having to lie in that bed you made, no one said it had to look a certain way

you can choose silk sheets, or crisp white cotton, or a billion pillows, soft down comforters, a sexy fur throw, a billowy canopy…

the possibilities of “the bed you made” are endless and so, my friend, are the possibilities of how your life looks

can you see that how that bed looks, that you have to now lie in, is completely up to you?

so yes, you made the choices you made, but how your life looks in the face of those choices?

the possibilities are endless!!

as someone who coaches joy for a living – I bet my life on that

what choices can you do differently right now, today?
